james: i'm not going to dis on skype, but it was so great to hear alexandra sitting right there next to amy, all crisp and clear and such! [though alex does have a great skype connection]. and how good was the timing that alex was on right after the news of chaz bono? as if we didn't like alex enough, she showed real class when she refused to comment on what chaz is going thru, since, you know, she doesn't know CB. and that documentary on alex that has been playing on PBS (like every few hours for those of us with WTTW Prime!) only deepens the appreciation and love we have for AB. Hey, if i sign up for that tennis lesson deal, can i play with amy (who'd certainly kick my ass, but still .

Lizabeth: Hi think it's great that Amy & Deb were so thrilled with talking ALL about themselves reviewing Windy City Gay Idol 09, and hit the "highlights" of the evening's contestants. But, why the hell didn't they acknowledge the contests winner at all? I would really like to know more about Amy Kelly, who she is, her story, how she sounded after a series of 3 months of competition? I think the show would have been better served honoring the fun event's winner, rather than hearing all about Amy & Deb, Deb & Amy's gold dress and personal nightlife. Geeze. .

Amy M: Hold on to your hat Lizabeth! A full show with Amy Kelly is coming in the next two weeks. I am sitting down and getting to know all about her. So don't miss that one. To see her perform check out our pictures at

Amy Off-Air: HOMOPHOBIA ON FOX-AND I DON'T MEAN ON IDOL
2009-05-22

I sent this letter to the Executives of FOX TV today.
Please join me in this call to action.
www.glaad.org/Page.aspx?pid=680

Dear Fox Executives:

I simply LOVE So You think You Can Dance. It showcases such talent and
emotion and diversity. But then I watch your premiere last night.

HOW can you continue to allow Nigel to perpetuate homophobic remarks season after season? Enough is enough.
"You need to butch up"
"I'd like to see you dance with a girl"
"you dance like a man"

I am over it! Unacceptable.
There are many GLBT people in the world of dance - Michael Bennett, Mark Morris, Alvin Ailey, Jerome Robbins -- perhaps he has heard of them. And it is offensive to the youth of today impressionable when watching that show.

Would he say, "you dance too black" or "you need to white it up"...or tell a girl "don't dance like a guy"

He needs to change.....NOW.
Dance is a world of inclusion, an extension of one's soul and diversity of one's spirit.

Come on Nigel. I expect better than you. We ALL should.

Respectfully,
Amy Matheny
Chicago, IL
